VinRobotics – One Year Of Choosing The Hardest Path Forward

One year may not be long in the technology world, but it is enough to mark a challenging journey for a Vietnamese startup in robotics and intelligent machines. From its first appearance at the A80 National Achievement Exhibition to successive showcases at SEMIEXPO 2025 and AI4VN, VinRobotics has made its mark as a young company committed to research and pioneering the development of industrial robots “Made in Vietnam.”

VinRobotics – One Year Of Choosing The Hardest Path Forward

Facing the First Challenges

Since its establishment in November 2024, VinRobotics has remained a new and intriguing name. It was only 1–2 months after unveiling its first impressive humanoids at Vingroup’s internal event (August 2025) that the company began to appear consistently at major public exhibitions and technology forums—demonstrating its ambition to conquer the most demanding milestones in the robotics and intelligent machine industry.

The first year is always a rigorous test for any technology startup—building a team, establishing effective operations, proving technological capability, and finding a sustainable development path. VinRobotics has been no exception.

It would have sounded like science fiction to speak of assembling a team of engineers—100% Vietnamese—capable of mastering core technologies, developing and successfully integrating high-end humanoid systems for industrial and manufacturing applications, one of the most complex sectors in the world, and doing so at remarkable speed. Yet, in the most challenging moments, the team was guided by an unwavering spirit: refusing to back down from what no one had done before. VinRobotics’ CEO still recalls hours-long conversations—sometimes stretching from midnight until dawn due to time-zone differences—to persuade Vietnamese engineers from around the world to return home and help build this project.

Staying True to a Human-Centered Mission

At a national scientific conference in September 2025, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng remarked that AI is a tool that empowers human creativity—not a replacement for humans. His statement reflects the guiding principle VinRobotics has followed since its earliest days.

For VinRobotics, “technology for humanity” is not just a slogan. It is a consistent philosophy that shapes the company’s development strategy: supporting an increasingly scarce workforce, enhancing productivity and work quality, serving people, and contributing to a future that is both prosperous and sustainable.

In the future, as autonomous humanoid robots enter factories to assist with heavy or hazardous tasks, or appear in schools and hospitals to help improve service quality, people will be freed from risky work—allowing them to focus more on creativity, personal well-being, and elevating their overall quality of life.

Determined to Master Core Technologies

Around the world, intelligent robotics is advancing at an unprecedented pace, ushering in a new era of autonomous robots and deeply integrated artificial intelligence. Robots today are not only capable of agile, autonomous mobility but also of communication and complex decision-making.

To enter this global arena, VinRobotics considers research capability and mastery of core technologies as the most critical foundations. Since its establishment, the company has rapidly developed advanced robotic technologies, including high-performance joint–actuator systems; a diverse suite of sensors; AI and intelligent processing; and dynamic control and balancing. In parallel, engineering teams have also tackled challenges in mechanical architecture and hierarchical control systems to build a fully integrated, end-to-end development pipeline.

With its strong technological foundation, VinRobotics is also focused on integrating complementary technologies in intelligent robotics—such as robotic arms, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and AI-driven computer vision—to automate warehouse operations, optimize production workflows, enhance product quality, and reduce operating costs. Key applications of foundation AI models for cobots and industrial robots include: high-speed pick-and-place systems; quality inspection solutions across manufacturing sectors; automated assembly; mobile collaborative robots; surface finishing solutions; and material handling systems.

This domain underscores the company’s mission to build a sustainable and efficient automation ecosystem that supports enterprises in their digital transformation of manufacturing operations.

Establishing a Distinct Identity

In just over eight months since its founding, VinRobotics has introduced Vietnam’s first five industrial humanoid prototypes: H1, H2, H3, and two models from the M2 series. Behind these achievements are thousands of hours spent inside the company’s lab—where engineers experienced some of the most emotional moments of their careers, such as the first time a robot stood firmly on its own or when the final line of code produced no errors.

The A80 National Exhibition marked a significant milestone as all five robots made their public debut, drawing exceptional attention from attendees.

Prior to that, VinRobotics’ H1 and H2 robots had also appeared at the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of 250 major national projects celebrating the August Revolution and National Day (2 September), where they had the honor of welcoming General Secretary Tô Lâm, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, and other senior Party and State leaders.

VinRobotics concludes its first year not with impressive numbers, but with the growth of a team that chose to pursue one of the most challenging paths in technology.

Moving Forward Into a New Chapter

Entering its second year, VinRobotics remains steadfast in its strategy: expanding its operational scale, strengthening its core technological capabilities—particularly foundation AI models for real-world industrial and warehouse applications—advancing toward commercial production, and progressively asserting its role in shaping Vietnam’s intelligent robotics ecosystem.

The journey ahead is long. Yet with each passing day, the confidence of the leadership team, engineers, and staff in what has been achieved—and what is yet to come—continues to grow. It is this conviction that propels VinRobotics forward as it pursues its mission of creating enduring, meaningful value. Untitled design.png
