About the Role
We are seeking an innovative Robotics Team Lead to drive our Mobile Manipulation project focused on advanced pick and place operations, (de)palletizing, and autonomous navigation. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in mobile robotics and manipulation with exceptional leadership skills to guide a multidisciplinary team through the full development lifecycle from concept to industrial deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of integrated mobile manipulation systems for logistics automation
Architect comprehensive solutions combining SLAM, navigation, and manipulation technologies
Oversee the design and implementation of high-speed pick and place operations
Direct (de)palletizing system development with emphasis on accuracy and reliability
Manage technical teams across robotics, software, and mechanical engineering disciplines
Define technical requirements, milestones, and performance benchmarks
Implement accurate SLAM and navigation capabilities in dynamic environments
Drive innovation in motion planning for mobile manipulators
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational needs
Develop robust testing procedures for complex mobile manipulation tasks
Create and execute training programs for junior team members
Establish career development pathways for engineers at various experience levels
Provide regular technical mentoring and growth opportunities for the team
Required Qualifications
MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
6+ years of experience in robotics, with at least 3 years leading technical teams
Extensive knowledge of mobile robot navigation and SLAM algorithms
Strong background in manipulation systems and end-effector design
Proven expertise in motion planning for complex pick and place operations
Experience with palletizing/depalletizing automation systems
Proficiency in ROS, navigation stacks, and manipulation frameworks
Programming skills in C++/Python for real-time robotic applications
Demonstrated success implementing mobile robots in industrial settings
Experience with AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) and their integration with manipulators
Track record of mentoring and developing junior engineers
Preferred Skills
Experience with high-speed picking operations
Knowledge of optimization techniques for path planning and task allocation
Background in visual servoing and dynamic object tracking
Expertise in sensor fusion for robust environmental perception
Understanding of fleet management systems for multiple mobile robots
Experience with industrial safety standards for mobile manipulation
Familiarity with simulation environments for testing complex robot behaviors
Experience developing custom end-effectors for varied manipulation tasks
Teaching or educational experience in robotics-related fields
