Robotics Deployment Engineer
- Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City
- Fulltime
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Robotics Deployment Engineer to lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of robotic and automation systems at customer sites. This role focuses on the practical deployment and testing of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), manipulators, and automation solutions within industrial and logistics environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically proficient, and capable of ensuring that robotic systems perform reliably and efficiently in live operations.
Core Responsibilities
1. System Installation & Setup
Execute installation and setup of robotic systems including AMRs, manipulators, and related automation equipment.
Configure robot hardware, sensors, docking stations, and network components according to deployment plans.
Perform mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and cable management following engineering drawings.
Ensure alignment with safety standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
2. Robot Programming & Commissioning
Program and calibrate robotic systems, navigation maps, and control parameters.
Tune performance for motion control, obstacle avoidance, and payload optimization.
Perform site acceptance tests (SAT) and validate robot behaviors under real operational conditions.
Collaborate with software and integration teams to debug communication, task management, and fleet coordination issues.
3. System Testing & Validation
Conduct system validation, functional testing, and performance benchmarking pre- and post-deployment.
Execute test cases to verify robot control logic, safety zones, and operational reliability.
Analyze logs, diagnostic data, and sensor feedback to identify optimization opportunities.
Document test results and prepare commissioning reports for client handover.
4. Field Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide on-site technical support during pilot runs and early production stages.
Coordinate with customers and engineering teams to resolve deployment-related issues.
Support firmware updates, system calibration, and configuration management.
Contribute to the improvement of deployment workflows and knowledge base documentation.
Required Skill Set
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in robotic deployment, installation, or field engineering roles.
Strong understanding of robotics systems including AMR, AGV, and industrial manipulators.
Experience with robot control frameworks (e.g., ROS/ROS2, Fleet Management Systems, or OEM robot SDKs).
Basic proficiency in Python, C++, or scripting languages for testing and tuning.
Solid understanding of industrial communication (TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC-UA) and safety protocols.
Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills with attention to detail.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with computer vision systems and sensor fusion (Lidar, IMU, 3D camera).
Experience in motion planning, localization, and SLAM algorithms for AMRs.
Knowledge of industrial networks and PLC/SCADA integration.
Certification or training from major robot manufacturers (e.g., MiR, Omron, ABB, Universal Robots).
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Deployment Lead or Project Manager. Works closely with Integration Engineers, Field Software Engineers, and QA teams during on-site deployment and validation phases.
Work Environment
This is a field-based role involving significant travel to customer sites, factories, and logistics centers. Work includes hands-on deployment, testing, and tuning of robots in real production environments. The role requires adaptability, technical precision, and adherence to strict safety and operational procedures.
