Role Summary
We are looking for a highly capable and organized Deployment Lead to oversee the on-site implementation, integration, and commissioning of robotic and automation systems. This role is responsible for coordinating deployment teams, ensuring technical excellence, and managing project execution at customer facilities. The ideal candidate combines technical depth in robotics and automation with strong leadership and communication skills to ensure successful deployments on time and within scope.
Core Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
Plan, organize, and oversee on-site deployment activities including installation, configuration, and commissioning of robotic systems.
Lead cross-functional deployment teams consisting of robotics engineers, integration specialists, and field technicians.
Manage project timelines, task assignments, and progress reporting for deployment phases.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during all site operations.
2. Technical Oversight & Integration
Provide technical direction during installation, testing, and commissioning of AMR, manipulator, and automation systems.
Collaborate with integration engineers to ensure PLC, SCADA, and MES connectivity is implemented as per design.
Validate system configurations, network setups, and robot control logic in collaboration with software teams.
Review system acceptance criteria and ensure all functional and safety requirements are met before handover.
3. Customer Communication & Reporting
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during deployment phases.
Conduct regular progress meetings and provide transparent project updates to stakeholders.
Prepare deployment documentation, test reports, and commissioning certificates.
Address customer feedback and coordinate corrective actions where required.
4. Team Development & Quality Assurance
Coach and mentor field engineers and technicians on deployment best practices and troubleshooting procedures.
Enforce quality control protocols and ensure all deployment deliverables meet engineering standards.
Participate in post-deployment reviews to identify process improvement opportunities.
Support the development of standardized deployment frameworks and documentation templates.
Required Skill Set
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
7+ years of experience in automation or robotics deployment, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA systems, industrial networks, and robotic control systems.
Proven experience managing field projects and coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Agile, or PMP).
Nice to Have
Experience with AMR/AGV systems, robotic arms, or collaborative robots (cobots).
Knowledge of safety standards such as ISO 10218, ISO 13849, and CE compliance.
Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic on-site environments.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Project Manager or Division Director. Works closely with Integration Engineers, Robotics Software Engineers, and Site Technicians during deployment execution.
Work Environment
This is a field-oriented role involving extensive work at customer sites, factories, and logistics centers. Frequent travel is expected for project deployments, system commissioning, and customer support. The role requires hands-on supervision and close collaboration with both internal and client teams.
