Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Field QA Inspector to oversee the on-site quality verification of robotic and automation system deployments. This role ensures that all installations, assemblies, and commissioning activities meet design specifications, safety regulations, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong inspection experience in robotics, industrial automation, or mechatronics systems, with hands-on technical understanding and field documentation skills.

Core Responsibilities

1. On-Site Quality Inspection

  • Conduct field inspections for robotic installations, electrical panels, cabling, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and assembly guidelines.

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and commissioning procedures during deployment.

  • Document non-conformances and coordinate with field engineers for corrective actions.

2. System Validation & Acceptance Testing

  • Participate in system validation, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) activities.

  • Verify functional performance of robotic systems including motion accuracy, connectivity, and safety interlocks.

  • Record test results, measurement data, and calibration checks with high precision.

  • Support final acceptance documentation and customer sign-off procedures.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, checklists, and defect tracking records.

  • Support QA Lead in developing and updating quality control documentation and audit forms.

  • Provide visual and written documentation for issue escalation and verification of corrective actions.

  • Ensure traceability of inspection data and proper version control of QA documents.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify quality gaps and recommend improvements to installation and deployment practices.

  • Provide feedback to design and deployment teams on recurring quality issues.

  • Participate in internal QA reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of inspection tools and checklists for future projects.

Required Skill Set

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.

  • 3–5 years of experience in quality inspection or commissioning roles within robotics, automation, or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical inspection standards.

  • Familiarity with PLC systems, wiring diagrams, and industrial safety practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation accurately.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Certification in Quality Assurance, Inspection, or Safety Compliance (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC-A-610).

  • Experience with robotics system validation (AMR, manipulator, or cobot).

  • Understanding of risk assessment and root-cause analysis methods (FMEA, 8D).

  • Hands-on experience with measurement instruments and calibration tools.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the QA Lead or Project Manager. Works closely with Deployment Engineers, QA Engineers, and Field Technicians to verify system integrity and quality compliance.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role requiring frequent travel to customer sites, factories, and logistics centers. Work involves physical inspection, testing, and validation of robotic and automation systems under active deployment conditions.
