Job Description

VinRobotics is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop real-time firmware for advanced actuator control systems. You will work alongside senior engineers to implement motor control algorithms, integrate communication protocols, and contribute to robust embedded software architecture for humanoid and collaborative robots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop low-level firmware for motor control (BLDC/PMSM) using Field-Oriented Control (FOC) techniques.

  • Support implementation of real-time control algorithms (PID, observer, feedforward) with >1kHz control loop.

  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers for system-level integration, PCB bring-up and debugging hardware-software interfaces.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, EtherCAT analyzers) to troubleshoot embedded systems effectively.

  • Work closely with senior engineers to learn advanced motor control techniques and embedded communication protocols.

  • Support testing activities, including functional validation and performance benchmarking.

  • Maintain thorough technical documentation, including software architecture diagrams, code comments, and integration guides.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related fields.

  • 2+ years embedded software development experience in motor control and real-time systems.

  • Proficiency in C/C++.

  • Experience with STM32 or TI C2000 series MCUs.

  • Familiarity with real-time debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, ST-Link, JTAG).

  • Understanding of control systems (PID tuning, modulation techniques, sensor feedback).

  • Knowledge of communication buses and protocols: Ethernet, EtherCAT, Serial, CAN, or USB.

  • Understanding version control systems such as Git or SVN.

  • Willingness to learn advanced motor control techniques and real-time systems.

  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS) for controller design validation and algorithm prototyping.

  • Familiarity with EtherCAT or industrial communication protocols.

  • Internship or academic projects related to motor control or robotics.

  • Understanding safety-critical systems, embedded security, and firmware update mechanisms (OTA updates).
