Role Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to establish and manage the testing framework for robotic and automation systems. This role ensures that all hardware, software, and integration deliverables meet stringent reliability, safety, and performance standards before deployment. The ideal candidate has experience leading QA teams in industrial automation, robotics, or embedded systems environments, with a strong grasp of test methodology and compliance frameworks.
Core Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Framework Development
Define the QA roadmap, strategy, and testing standards for robotic and automation systems.
Develop QA processes covering functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and safety validation.
Establish quality metrics and KPIs to measure product readiness and reliability.
Create templates and guidelines for documentation, reporting, and issue tracking.
2. Test Planning & Execution Oversight
Lead the creation of detailed test plans, acceptance criteria, and validation protocols for hardware and software components.
Coordinate test execution across multiple teams — software, hardware, and integration.
Oversee the design and setup of test environments, simulation rigs, and real-world testing conditions.
Review and approve test reports ensuring completeness, traceability, and accuracy.
3. Quality Governance & Compliance
Ensure all QA processes align with ISO, IEC, and internal quality management standards.
Participate in design and process reviews to ensure early detection of potential quality issues.
Conduct audits and quality assessments for internal teams and suppliers.
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on non-conformance reports and incident logs.
4. Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead, mentor, and develop QA Engineers and Inspectors across multiple project streams.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within QA and deployment teams.
Implement test automation tools and data-driven approaches to increase QA efficiency.
Work closely with R&D, Operations, and Integration teams to feed quality insights into design improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, or Quality Engineering.
7+ years of experience in QA roles within robotics, automation, or embedded systems domains, with 2+ years in a leadership position.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing frameworks, and quality management systems (QMS).
Experience with test case management and bug-tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
Familiarity with software testing (Python, C++, or scripting) and hardware verification procedures.
Excellent leadership, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 10218, and IEC 61508 compliance frameworks.
Background in test automation and CI/CD integration for QA pipelines.
Exposure to AI/vision-based system validation and performance benchmarking.
Certified quality professional (ASQ CQE, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Technical Director or Head of Quality Assurance. Works closely with QA Engineers, Field QA Inspectors, and Test Automation Engineers to ensure delivery quality across all systems.
Work Environment
This position is based primarily in the QA lab, with occasional travel to field sites for validation and audit purposes. Close collaboration with engineering, operations, and R&D teams is expected to maintain system quality and compliance.
