We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of the services and tools that drive VinRobotics' robot systems. In this role, you will own critical backend systems, set technical direction, mentor other engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the needs of our robotics ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, implement, and deploy backend services and tools for:

1. Robot configuration and calibration.

2. Fleet management and user interaction interfaces for the robot population.

3. Data access and visualization features.

4. Define backend architecture, API standards, and integration patterns for scalability, security, and performance.

• Develop scalable, well-documented APIs and frameworks for seamless integration.

• Standardize CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and incident response practices; drive the reliability (uptime/SLA) of critical services in staging and production.

• Conduct code and design reviews, and make technical decisions on solutions proposed by the team.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.

• Collaborate with engineering, system integration, and product teams to gather feedback and requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer developing web applications, including experience designing large-scale systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust or Golang for backend development.

• Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis, including schema design and performance tuning.

• Experience with Docker and deploying services on Kubernetes (K8s) or similar platforms.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines).

• Experience with Git and modern software development processes.

• Ability to lead technical discussions and drive features end to end.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with messaging protocols and brokers for device communication, such as MQTT (e.g., EMQX, Mosquitto) or similar.

• Frontend experience (e.g., React/TypeScript).

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Foxglove.

• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2.

• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud services.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
