About the Role

Responsible for the design, evaluation, and validation of safety-related control systems for robotic products in compliance with ISO 13849-1 & 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate Safety-Related Parts of Control Systems (SRP/CS) for robotic applications.

• Perform risk assessments, define the required Performance Level (PLr), and calculate safety metrics such as Category, MTTFd, DC and Performance Level (PL).

• Develop and execute verification and validation plans for safety functions, including Emergency Stop (E-Stop), collision detection, and other protective functions.

• Collaborate with hardware and software R&D teams to integrate certified safety components (Safety PLCs, Safety Relays, Safety Sensors) and implement diagnostic and fault detection mechanisms.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Risk Assessments, safety validation reports, and certification packages for CE Marking, UL, and other regulatory approvals.

• Coordinate with international certification bodies throughout product development and certification.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine control systems, industrial automation, robotics, or functional safety engineering.

Technical Qualifications

• Good knowledge of machinery functional safety standards, particularly ISO 13849-1 & 2. Familiarity with IEC 62061, IEC 61508, or equivalent standards is an advantage.

• Understanding of drive safety functions, including Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1), Safe Limited Speed (SLS), and related technologies.

• Knowledge of Functional Safety engineering principles and the machinery safety lifecycle.

• Familiarity with relevant machinery safety regulations and international standards.
