Field/Robotics Deployment Engineer

  • Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City
  • Fulltime

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Field/Robotics Deployment Engineer to manage the installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of our cutting-edge robotic systems at customer sites. This role is highly hands-on, requiring expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software diagnostics. The ideal candidate thrives in a field environment, is an excellent problem-solver, and can effectively train customers on complex technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

  • On-site Setup: Lead the physical installation and setup of new robotic systems (e.g., AMRs, platform, electric system) at various customer factory and warehouse locations.

  • System Configuration: Perform detailed configuration of integrated sensors, actuators, and control software according to site specifications.

  • Calibration & Safety: Execute precise robot motion calibration and rigorously verify the functionality of all safety systems (e.g., safety laser scanners, emergency stops).

  • Deployment Testing: Conduct comprehensive system performance tests and sign-off procedures to ensure operational readiness.

2. Technical Support & Diagnostics

  • Troubleshooting: ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and programming faults across the deployed robotics system.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze system logs, error codes, and operational data to pinpoint root causes of failures.

  • Technical Support: Provide remote and/or on-site technical support to quickly address system downtime and operational issues.

  • Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with the core R&D and Software Engineering teams to report recurring issues, provide field feedback, and implement long-term solutions.

3. Customer Engagement & Documentation

  • Operator Training: Conduct thorough training sessions for customer operators and maintenance staff on correct robot operation, routine maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.

  • Documentation: Create, review, and update technical documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on field experience.

4. Full-Stack Backend & System Infrastructure

  • Back-end Engineering: Lead the design and implementation of the application back-end, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.

  • Database Architecture: Design and optimize database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) for high-volume operational and historical data.

  • User Interface Support: Develop APIs and back-end logic to support web-based monitoring platforms and mobile/PDA user interfaces.

5. Deployment, Testing, and Quality

  • End-to-End Integration: Own the comprehensive system integration process across software, hardware, and network components.

  • QA & Deployment: Support extensive QA/QC efforts and be responsible for the successful deployment and commissioning of the system at customer sites/factories.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience in field service, installation, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial automation or robotics systems (e.g., AMRs, industrial arms, conveyors).

  • Technical foundation in electrical schematics, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting industrial control systems (PLCs, motor drives, etc.).

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues under pressure.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills for effective customer training.

  • Willingness to travel frequently (e.g., 50-75% travel) for on-site deployments and support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Software Skills: Prior experience or demonstrable skills as a Robotics Software Engineer (e.g., familiarity with Linux/ROS, Python, or control software development) is a significant advantage.

  • Experience analyzing system logs and telemetry data from industrial networks.
